You can get one free credit report each year from the bureaus.

Thus if you contact one of the Credit Bureau links above and request a report then another four months later you can get a total of three reports per year.

If you have an outstanding balance that is in collection or charged-off it is hurting your credit score. To help yourself you should be contacting them and developing a payment plan.

Remember that items in collection or charged-off are outstanding debt on loan application, even if you are not paying anything toward the account.
