Requirements
Active Duty Military personnel, Civilian Employees and retired military
personnel of the United States Coast Guard, Eighth Coast Guard District with
headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana, members of their immediate families,
organizations of such employees, military and retired personnel and
employees of the Coast Guard Employees Credit Union and members of their
immediate families are eligible to join.
How Many Accounts Can You
Have?
While each member may have only one primary savings account, each member
is encouraged to open and use other types of accounts that we offer as well
as accounts for family members.
Joint Ownership
A member and another person or persons jointly own this account.
The other person may not be a member of the Credit Union. Once
established, each joint owner has full rights to deposit or withdraw money
from the account. In the event of death of a joint owner, the
surviving owner or owners shall own all shares in the account. Many
married members have joint accounts with their spouse so that in the event
of death of either, the survivor will have immediate access to the funds in
the account. Remember, the joint owner may save or withdraw but may
not borrow.
